Release of a printable version of the IBCAO

Printable version of the IBCAOA printable version of the International Bathymetric Chart of the Arctic Ocean (IBCAO) v3 is now available to download.

Access the IBCAO printable map as a PDF document (230 Mbytes)

Please note that because of the size of the file we recommend it is saved to disk rather than opened from the above link.

The goal of the IBCAO project is to develop a digital database containing all available bathymetric data north of 64° North, for use by mapmakers, researchers, institutions and others whose work requires a detailed and accurate knowledge of the depth and the shape of the Arctic seabed.

Version 3 of the IBCAO is included in the GEBCO_2014 Grid.

In order to build the next generation of improved GEBCO global bathymetric compilations, regional expertise is needed and this can only be achieved by fully taking advantage of regional seafloor mapping and data collection activities.

Through the Sub-Committee on Regional Undersea Mapping (SCRUM), GEBCO is aiming to build on and extend its collaboration with regional mapping groups, such as the IBCAO, in order to improve its global bathymetric model.
