Take part in our questionnaire on crowdsourced bathymetry data
Crowdsourced Bathymetry (CSB) is the collection and sharing of depth measurements from vessels, using standard navigation instruments, while engaged in routine maritime operations. It represents one of the means that a wholly mapped ocean can be achieved. The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), General Bathymetric Chart of the Ocean (GEBCO) and The Nippon Foundation-GEBCO Seabed 2030 project are collaborating on expanding the use of CSB to support and accelerate the complete mapping of the world’s oceans.
Trusted Nodes are approved organizations or individuals who systematically receive CSB data collected by vessels or other platforms and deliver them to the IHO Data Centre for Digital Bathymetry (DCDB).

Please take part in our questionnaires to provide valuable feedback on CSB work.
For Vessel Owner/Operators
If you or your organization own a boat, yacht, or ocean-going vessel, you could be participating in this impactful citizen science activity that will truly help reverse the cycle of decline in ocean health while responsibly supporting the development of a sustainable ocean economy.
We are interested in hearing your views on potential recognition and incentives that might motivate you or your organization’s participation in a CSB effort. To this end, we hope you will be willing to take this 10-question questionnaire, which should take no more than 5-minutes. Thank you for your interest and support.
