The GEBCO-NF Alumni team entry in the Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE - an update
The GEBCO-NF Alumni Team has completed Technology Readiness Tests of its entry in the Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE competition.
Supported by KONGSBERG, their unique Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) / Autonomous Underwater Vessel (AUV) concept and associated combination of communications technology is designed to process and transmit data remotely.
The test event was held on the fjord outside KONGSBERG’s factory in Horten, Norway, on Thursday 23rd November.

The Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE is a global competition with the aim of advancing deep-sea technologies for autonomous, fast and high-resolution ocean exploration.
The GEBCO-NF Alumni team consists of alumni from the Nippon Foundation - GEBCO Training Programme and industry expert advisors. The team is one of 19 semi-finalists in the $7 million competition.
